I love this backpack. It will hold 2 thousand page textbooks, 2 one inch binders, and my MacBook Pro. The straps and back are designed so it's easy to carry around.
Broken down:
The side pockets are designed to hold water bottles. They're mesh. There's a bungy cord thing that lets you adjust the size to fit your bottle.
The front mesh pocket is designed to hold whatever! I usually put the book we're reading for lit and my graphing calculator in there. There's a buckle at the top which is perfect for clipping a lunch box or a lanyard to.
The top outside pocket is where I put pens and pencils, it's really convenient and easy to access. I usually put my cell phone in there also.
The first big front pocket has an organizer for pens and pencils and electronics. It has a place to clip your keys also.
The back pocket has rooms for book and a back pocket that I use for my laptop.
I love this backpack. It's cute, versatile, and easy to haul around my 5 million text books and papers. Highly recommended.

I've owned several backpacks and I would have to say that the JanSport Trinity Performance that I bought in the UK is my favourite. I liked it because it just had a lot of space and felt light. It was also very simple which is seemingly a rarer feature amongst today's designs.
If you buy this North Face, you won't be disappointed, however. What I would say is that, over all other packs you buy, the straps these have are by far the best for your back. I don't really use the chest or waist straps that are provided. Only once with a very heavy load did I use the chest. But the arms are more than enough. Rather than just comfort and ergonomic, what they also provide are the size are shape which make you feel like your stuff is with you at all times. This was my chief complaint of the aforementioned JanSport.
Most people in NYC where I live have North Face of one kind or another. They are expensive, it is true. But the strain that comes from cheaper bags with more traditional straps will make it totally worth the difference.
The only dislike I have of most North Face is bags is how small the space is. I'm able to fit a netbook and maybe 2-3 inches worth of other things in there. But the way this particular bag is shaped means that if you have much in the outer compartments, the amount you have left for the main compartment becomes minimized. This is a trade-off; it means you always are carrying the same size sort of thing with the same reliability of feel. On the other hand, most North Face packs you come across won't have as much heft as maybe some are looking for.
But then again, how often do most of us ACTUALLY use everything we carry around with us.
Lastly, the bag is probably not as light as the JanSport, but the build quality is superior. I've given all the zippers a lot of a tug here and there from recklessness to just plain busyness. And whereas the JanSport I felt almost that I'd ruin the bag by treating it too roughly, the North Face I've never had a doubt. Sort of reminds you of what the old JanSports were like twenty years ago, when they were with lifetime guarantees and leather bottoms!

Nice. I wanted something smallish to use as a day pack. I find myself using the outer pockets more than the large inner pocket, especially the mesh. Where I work there is a security checkpoint, so it's nice to be able to throw keys, wallet, and phone in the mesh outer at the last second. It's cool on my back when worn with one shoulder, it's got the mesh backing so I imagine it'd be comfortable if I had to wear it on a bike or something.
Stylish, well sized, excellent quality you'd expect from North Face. I also like the rigid inner portion on the mesh side of the main compartment, it makes it easy to slide in behind the seat of a car.
My only annoyance is no keeper straps or bands, you just have this excess in each of the straps that just kind of flops around.
